I dunno, don't ask about the subject line...hehe! I've been working really hard on these roses. I folded so many of them, I thought my fingers would fall off! Here are some of my favorites:

I posted here a few months back that I was starting a crocheted rag rug. My mother sent me some extra fabric to strip (make into strips that is) and crochet into a rag rug. (It helps to have a quilter for a mother - lots of extra fabric). I bought a little bit more fabric to flush it out, it's about 80% legitimate scrap, and 20% purchased. I didn't use a pattern, just did it by feel. I sewed the fabric together so let it change color when it will rather than by plan. Much more "rag rug" feel that way.

And that is my rag rug, just like my mother and grandmother and great-grandmother have made, and probably women before that. I like new crafts, but I also like to do things that connect me with the past, my heritage.

hi guys,

i recently learned some crocheting basics in a class, but i think i need a review and some help to get started on a project. i'd like to crochet a scarf, and start out with something easy. does anyone have any tips, suggestions, or know of any online videos to help with this? i know how to start the basic slip knot, then start the chain, and do single or double crochet. my main problems are, i don't know how to get the chains to all be uniform - they end up all different sizes and it doesn't look very aesthetic! then when i start the single and double crochet, i'm confused on how to bring it through the chains, i feel like i do this wrong and then it just looks even worse.

all advice appreciated =) thanks guys!

Hey ladies! I recently finished my most recent bracelets in my series "A Mess."

This would be the "Blue Mess".

Sorry for the scan, this computer wont talk to my new camra! D:

And, on another note, if this second part is against the rules, please let me know. I recently got ALLOT of really great supplies for really cheep [about $1000 of supplies for around $30!] and I want to share the luck! The first lady that leaves a comment here with a measurement of her wrist [how big around your wrist is plus half an inch] and their favorite color will receive a free "A Mess" bracelet!

Much love for all the creative ladies here!

I made a homemade little press today! I think my screws are a bit too short though. I may have to replace those with longer screws.

These are my new large paperclay steampunk faces and instead of wire wrapping them I added a loop to the top and bottom of the face to put a chain through and for a little drop hanging below and I really like how they turned out. I may have to do more pendants without the wirewrapping.

This is made with a real daisy encased in resin. I didn't do this pendant myself but I figured out how last summer. So, hopefully I can make these as pendants one of these days. The chain is a modified spiral chain pattern that I learned from one of my magazines. I even handmade the toggle clasp for this one.
