So I went a little nuts in the past 2 years, & probably spent close to $250 on scrapbook supplies
I liked doing it for a while, but I've since realized that I really don't have enough stuff to scrap, nor do I have that much motivation to do it anymore. I'd rather focus on my art.

SO, I'm planning on getting rid of most of my scrapbook stuff. But I REALLY like the paper I've got, I think it's some of the most gorgeous paper I've ever seen, & I would love to be able to incorporate it into my art. I just don't know how.
I was thinking of drawing on plain cardstock, cutting the figures out, & gluing them to the scrapbook paper, but that seems like it'd be too much extra work, & the glue would probably warp the paper. I could draw on top of the paper itself, but the pattern would probably show through
Does anyone have any suggestions? (I do mostly character art, both anthro & human, & I work in pencil crayon)

I wanted to make this for my niece who is turning 1 year old in March.
But I don't know how this pattern is worked. Where does it start from?Tthe collar?
It seems like the body is all one piece, but so far I have done 4 rows and where the pattern says: "Skip the next length of hdc's and hdc directly into the middle hdc of th hdc-inc of the previous row" that is telling me to basically make a loop thing stick up, right? That's what I have and it seems way too small to be a sleeve just yet.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i'm about to spend a gift card from Amazon on beading supplies online. anyone have a favorite store where you get stuff? i'm new to the art of beading and have become addicted. i need wire of different gauges. i have a ton of little beads to practice making stuff but my wire is too flimsy. i bought a good book w/ pics and instructions and i've read it 3 times!! I can't believe how much I like this! thanks for any help you can give.

i'm surfing around for info and i need opinions........

does anyone use and/or recommend silver plated copper wire for making wire jewelry? it's much cheaper than sterling silver. since im a beginner, i thinking going cheap is a good way to start. whaddyathink? is the plated wire durable? will the plating crack and how quickly will it wear off?
sorry for all the dumb questions. i've been looking for info and was hoping tips from this community would be helpful.

Hey everyone!

I am new to crochet so i will have many question in the future!
Well this is my current question.

I found a pattern on how to crotchet a hat for my doll.
I am stuck! I need help!

Make a slip knot loop and sc 6 sts into the loop; tighten loop.
begin increases
1) 2 hdc into each st (12)
2) *1 hdc, inc 1* (18)
3) *2 hdc, inc 1* (24)
4) *3 hdc, inc 1* (30)
5) *4 hdc, inc 1* (36)
6) *5 hdc, inc 1* (42)
Stop increasing. Start checking the fit after row 10 to get the length you want.
7 - 13) hdc ea st
done!

I am stuck on number 2.
I already did number one!
Shouldn't it be 14 instead of 18 stitches?

So on 1) i do 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1 1+2
so it is 14.

Am i doing something wrong?

So, there is nothing that I love more than the look of old yellowing books. I found this beautiful old hardcover book about the English royal family in my favorite used book shop a while ago, and of course I had to save it from "Free To Take" bin!

I used Double Helix Kronos 2, which I reduced and then encased in lots of clear. The small spacer beads are plain black. The big beads here are BIG! Very chunky and would make great focals.

 This is made from the cheeziest clock kit ...I bought it at Michael's it had like a pack of markers and these prepared patterns with butterflies or flowers or a flag that you could color or something ... I think there was copy paper in there too so that could have been part of it... I didnt really read it. 

I wanted an owl clock and this was what I came up with.

Wearable

This was my first hat ever made; it is full of mistakes, re-dos and non-useful bits. The majority was made in 2007, but I never could find a satisfactory method of keeping it on my head.

Yesterday, I stitched a ribbon to it to tie on and that did the trick. Now it fits on my head instead perching and flopping.

Okay, not technically finished... there is some stitching inside that needs to be completed. However, it's wearable, as I proved Saturday night, clubbing at Velocity. 01FEB09 Tempe, AZ

BTW, the back "poof" is interchangeable. In the photo, it's just a sequined netting bow pinned in with a black flower broach. When worn in LA, it had two burgundy rose broaches holding in a swooping feather.

does anyone know if Blue Moon's metal findings are nickel-free or not?

if something doesn't explicitly state that it is nickel-free, I assume it isn't. I wish the labels on things would actually state what they're made of more often. this is a HUGE pet peeve of mine.
