Rewireing, Lampshades, & Mats

So this past weekend I went antiquing and got this lovely late Victorian lamp of a lady who's skirt was a pink rose. I had to rewire it because the electric plug it came with was one of those old fashioned cloth ones, and the cloth was starting to fray. It came without a lampshade, so I had to get one of those, and embellish it to match. Then once I was done with that I decided it would be nifty to make it a mat to go under it....(not the hand crocheted runner...something else. :)

Completely re-useable and it cost less to make than a box of new swiffer scrubber things. I feel like a won a game I didn't even know I was playing.
