Usually I do not posting armor in craftgrrl, but this armor can be discussed as original medieval design piece, not only as functional gear, I think

Its coming up on our one year wedding anniversary and I'd like to make a scrapbook of our unofficial wedding pictures... This first year has been pretty tough with my husband currently out of work due to depression and his father being ill. I'd really like to have this as a positive thing to focus on ( and maybe even to get him to help me)

I've done paper craft for years, mostly card making so I have an idea if the techniques that can be used. Is there anything else I need to know about for scrapbooking (aside from acid free glue adn 12 x 12 paper... I'm all stocked up) I wonder if anyone has any good websites or links to examples of thier work... I've checked the memories and found some, but I know these things get out of date. Also I'm fully aware I could join a scrapbooking community, but the stuff produced here is always more original and inspiring than the standard "buy this paper, stick this on, et voila!"

Oh and so I'm not text only... some of my lovely cards...

Wow, I was busy this week! I guess that's what comes from not getting many hours at my "real" job.
cut for lots of pics )

Also thanks to everybody who responded to my survey for Lampwork Bead buyers so far. The responses have been really useful and interesting, and I know that many of my fellow lampwork artists are going to appreciate them just as much as I have!

The free bead giveaway is going to be this set:

I don't think I'm going to keep the survey going more than another week or so because I've already gotten a lot of responses!! But feel free to contribute yours if you want to be in the draw for those beads - and send me your email address too please so I can put you in the draw (or just PM me on here and I will include your LJ username in the draw, if you don't want to give me your email... but I promise I won't sell you out to evil corporations or even not so evil ones, or spam you with anything either).

A small painting I am trying to decide if I should scrap or not...
EDIT: I am worried about it as I had to free hand the octo. I'm used to sketching the
idea out then painting it in.

Octo! )

So my friend became a new grandma and I just had to get busy with a gift, card and gift bag. I attended the baby shower today. I can tell you this, the baby will be the cleanest, best dressed baby in Canada. I wanted to do something special for Mom and Dad, so I printed out some of the first days and hospital stay pictures and made them into a collage that I added titles to, and framed in an 11"X14" frame. I also enlarged a picture of the baby and framed it also, with a pink matt. Mom was quite pleased. I also bought the cutest little outfit for baby as well as a set of sleepers.
Here are some pictures of my creativity.
photos here of cute stuff )
This is also cross-posted to craftgirl, so I appologize if you are seeing double.

Hi everybody! :) I just found your community today and thought maybe I might show you my dolls :) These are my creations, I called them "Haroshki" (c) in Russian, I would translate this as "cuties" into English but not quite... I was inspired by russian Matryoshka (Babushka) dolls and Japanese Kokeshi dolls :) Look what happened :)

I hope it's not too soon to make another post. It's an update from my dorky horse costume post from the other day.

http://community.livejournal.com/craftgrrl/12360564.html#cutid1

I worked on another brow band last night as well as the saddle cloth. The brow band is too long but I didn't have any measurements. So I'll fix that and I want tassel on it. The saddle cloth will Velcro to an actual saddle pad. I am going to put girth slits in the cloth so a girth won't scrunch it up and it'll still flow and dangle.

So! More photos, this time with a brow band and my boyfriend who hates horses hahaha.
