So, I'm making a dress. It requires boning, and I've never had to use that before. Is it hard to put in? Is it worth it?

Ps, this is the dress:

So, I have a ton of Obama stuff from working on the local campaign, yada yada.

Question: What are all y'all's favourite scrapbooking sites? I'm looking for inspiration and materials.

I have some ideas. I think I want to affix the scrapbook to a box, because I have so many magazines, buttons and newspapers and I just like that idea.

Thanks for your time! :D

Yay, I made my second scrapbook page.. eva! I'm excited. If you all don't remember me - I'm sure you remember my page as I was the one whose baby was screaming 'not the microwave!!' at my husband because he was about to stick her in there.. she knew. =x

Well, here is my next page that I've done - yay - I have 3 pictures of the same page because I was trying the best I can to show off different things, the sparkley paper, the picture..etc. Yeah. =o\ Anyways, I hoope you all enjoy. =o) IT's my favorite picture of my daughter to daate and my husband took the picture in the hospital RIGHT after she came out [but she was cleaned up!] It was like the first picture of her! =o))

Enjoy. =o)

I'm curious as to find a corset-maker able to replicate the corset worn by Tara in "Once More With Feeling" from Buffy.
It's a duo birthday/halloween present in the plotting stages.
It would be for a lady size 14-16 and quotes would be nifty.

This is Xposted from [livejournal.com profile] brisgoth and I'm hoping all the crafty ladies can help me.

Finding a pattern and someone to make it has been the easy bit.

Finding the right fabric is giving me a migraine.
From what I can tell it's Indian brocade and I have no idea where to find it or anything that looks close enough to it.

Any ideas/sites???

mock cable neckwarmer

This is a new mock-cable knit neckwarmer I made on the BART commute using a wool/acrylic blend of yarn and funky colored buttons. I haven't worn it out yet (too much love for my checker-knit neckwarmer!), but am thinking of making its debut this spring!

nan
once, nan brushed her hair with a hundred strokes, she put on her prettiest dress and she boarded an aeroplane. she crossed oceans and spoke to absolutely no one. but when she arrived there was no one there to smile at her, no one there to kiss, no one there at all. it's impossible to say how many years it has been. she never mentions it, and she does smile sometimes. but she's never taken off the dress. and nan never brushes her hair.

[ingredients: sculpey, acrylic paint, tea, lace, hair, boiling water, wire and a vague sense of sadness]

i really love this girl, and i'm not entirely sure why. maybe because someone needs to.
