I have been working on these FOREVER and finally got the pattern the way I want it, so I can show them now. ^_^

They are made out of plastic canvas which I think is such a fun hobby, but sadly a dying one as well. :-(

Let me know what you all think!

Recently had an issue with some curtains. I decided that the fabric is much more usefull than the actual curtain itself. It was telling me it needed a better life...rather than hanging in a window. Therefore, I decided to turn it into a tube top. It was dark brown before I tye dyed it with some bleach then overdyed it with blue dye.

I mean to post this here to craftgrrl for someone last night but forgot.

There are so many ways of making a dressform for yourself but my personal opinion is that the quicker ones are inferior and if you have the time it's better to do the more involved ones. However, there are times when only one type is possible so I'll go through the five methods from worst to best. For all of these methods you will need to make your own base, which is not that difficult but here is a link anyway. By the way, a quick edit, even the "worst" method I mention will still get you a very usable dressform. Most people who have done it love theirs, so don't think you shouldn't do it if it's the one that will work best for you. :)

Mod note

Hello craftgrrls (and bois!) I have two things to make brief comments on.

First off:
Don't spam the community advertising for votes. It's spam, spam is not cool and no one likes spam. I will happily delete the post and add your name to my "candidates to be banhammered" list.

Second!
I'm working on the tags again. I gave up on the memories section oh so long ago so they are really outdated. Members can add tags to posts (but only mods can make new tag categories) so if you see something that needs to be saved for future reference then by all means TAG IT! And if you look through the list and see a tag that we need to have mention it here and I'll make one.

I hope this is ok, if not, mods feel free to delete.

I was looking at a web site and the person was using Liquid Pearls to make little embellishments for later use. I thought this would be an awesome idea since I make lots of cards and the little pearl dots can get pricy.

I am looking for a silicone "splat mat" of sorts so that I can make a punch of "pearls" for later use and also remove them from the surface I am dropping them on.

any clue where to find something like that?

EDIT: Thank you for all the awesome tips....I found just what I am looking for at Michaels.

Hi there! First time poster here. Ah- well- I'm actually not familiar with crafts. I draw more than anything else. But a couple weeks ago a friend and I tried our hand at customizing a pair of shoes. We picked up a pair of white, canvas sneakers from Zellers and I brought over my markers and paint.
