I've been on a bit of an A Midsummer Night's Dream kick lately and so I made this for when I'm feeling extra Puck-tastic:

Hey Grrls! Long time no post, for me, but I have been busy busy busy!!

I wonder if any of you remember maybe a long while back, I posted with questions on how to remove parts of ceramic figures without damaging them... I was talking about performing a sex change on a cow by sanding off its udder to make it more... manly. There was a big debate in the comments about whether doing so would indeed change the sex of the cow or not, and it was actually kinda comical...

Anyway!! I've finally finished the project involving said cow, and I want you to see just how manly he's become! You might even say boylike. Hellboylike.Ladies and Gentlemen, meet HELLCOW!! )

Also, he has a fine feathered friend who'll never cry fowl! Meet Blue Beetleduck! )

This is the first of three commissions I got while working at a craft fair a couple weeks ago.

Full shot. It's a bit difficult to see, but that's two jade flowers at the center, with 6mm rose quartz on either side, then 8mm hematite, and 10mm amethyst. The filler beads are just regular shiny black glass.

Strung on .019 SoftFlex, with sterling silver findings. I ended up restringing this for him 5 times before he was happy.

All the materials at the center are stones that correspond to particular chakras.

I got married this month, and have a box full of gorgeous cards given to us by friends and family.

I would like to do something creative with the cards, but am not coming up with any good ideas.

Do any of you have suggestions for me?

I should add too that I am not opposed to cutting them up.. I want to create something with them rather than preserve them in their current state.

Thanks so much!

Roses...

I looked through the memories and tags but didn't really find what I'm looking for...

I was given some lovely flowers for my birthday. I have dried a rose upside-down... now I just want to do something to keep the petals from falling off eventually... Anybody have any ideas? Something really lightweight would work best, I think. I was thinking maybe brush around the base of it with some regular Elmer's glue? Or would a spray shellac/varnish work better? I just don't want the petals to ever fall off, I want it to keep its shape while displayed in a vase. (I like dead flowers... lol) Thanks for any thoughts!! :)

Lets talk about tags for a moment.

The tags are meant to replace/augment the memories. We can't tag every single post since that would be too much to wade through when looking for something specific.

So when you are tagging your own craftgrrl posts (or someone else's) please make sure that it is something that should be tagged.

A few examples of posts that should be tagged:
A tutorial or a link to a tutorial
A post that is a question with answers
A post that ends up having a (craft related) discussion in the comments

Things that should not be tagged:
Show your crafts type posts without any content other than "look at my stuff!"
Frequently asked questions (like glue advice that gets directed to thistothat.com)
Drama/Flounce posts

I add tags and remove them to try to keep things streamlined so if you see the tag on your post change it's just me.

Also if you think there is a tag that we should have but don't leave me a comment and I'll make one.
