A tutorial site for free to cheap crafts, some of which are quite cool: http://dollarstorecrafts.com/
The navigation is a little non-standard, but they've got some good ideas. Some of the projects have the indie I-made-this-from-trash look; others look rather tony.

Introducing...Math Gnomes!

My husband very kindly took the "big" kids to the park so I could have a bit of quiet time, and to let our youngest have a good nap. So I took the opportunity to finish up my Math Gnomes! As you can see they all have their "operator" on their bellies. We homeschool and I'll be using these to introduce math to my oldest this year. I only needed King Equals this week, but I wanted them to be done! They are very cute! I cannot wait to use these in the stories!
Remember when, I caught your eye?

A crafty Labor Day weekend.

Hi all! Just thought I'd share a couple of the things I got to work on this weekend (and ask a question).
First and foremost I had to doctor my door pig (he's a doorstop). His wing broke a couple of weeks ago while I was redecorating.

That was him in his glory days.

Pocket Emergency Kit Ideas
Sep. 7th, 2009 11:37 pm![[identity profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/openid.png)
I've been busy making sock monkeys again!
( One more photo under the cut! )
Now for a question!
I'm converting the stacks and stacks of altoid tins I have into little pocket/purse "emergency" kits and am trying to come up with things that you carry on you (or don't but always end up needing).
So far I have:
mini scissors
emery board
needle and thread
safety pins
bandaids
antiseptic wipes
folding pen
tweezers
shopping cart "coins"
I'd love some other ideas! I hope that these will make good stocking stuffers this year =)
