Hey everyone, I've been a member here for yeeeaaars and recently started getting back into hardcore crafting. How is everyone?! Being in college and living in a tiny apartment can put a damper on crafting. But now I work on an alpaca farm where my job is 50% animal care/training and 50% delicious fibery goodness. (if you live in NJ please come visit us!)

Here are some pictures from my first dyeing experiment:

We used acid dyes (natural dyes coming soon!).  Here some handpainting being done to roving. We did do kettle dyeing too but I didn't get pictures.

What you need is paper, printer, narrow ribbon, card paper for the cover. First print the material using the booklet option. Then divide the margin into 4 and cut with a scissors. Put the ribbon through the holes you made to stitch together the cover and the booklet pages. Voila.

Hey y'alls. The other night I had the idea of purchasing some stationery, so I started cruising etsy. As I was looking at the designs I liked the most, I realized that I could do it myself. I am waiting for a package of lino blocks and a couple of speedball lino knife sets, it should be here tomorrow *squee*. I have never done any kind of printing before, my usual crafts are poly clay, needlework and some sewing.
I have done some googling (that always sounds dirty to me) on the subject and have determined that it's possible to do laserjet transfers just with water. Has anyone had success with this technique?
What are the best types of media to use for printing? Is it necessary for me to buy the ink too, or can I just use paint?
Any other general advice or tips and tricks are greatly appreciated.

I made a messenger style bag today. I hadn't done one of these in a long time, but I really like how it turned out.

Hand-painted T-shirt I made for my other half's birthday, and under the cut a hand-painted wallet I made him for Xmas (featuring Drinky Crow from Maakies and some frames I recycled to house some of my weenier beetles. Been getting away from just drawing a bit lately!

I had the links saved on my old computer before it died and now that I need it I dont have it. I looked through the tags but cant find squat.

There was a few people here that made leather bound journals that looked antique/vintage. I wanted to make one and remember those were ones I LOVED and wanted to look at them again for inspiration.
If anyone has the links, or it was you, or just know somewhere to give good binding techniques when working with leather (I swear my eyes are going blurry from all the googling), your help will be much appreciated.

I have a turquoise pashmina scarf/shawl. It is 100% acrylic. I have washed it once in the washing machine and it is a few years old. This weekend I realized it is turning my neck turquoise. Does anyone know how I can set the dye or rinse it in such a way to prevent the dye transfer in the future?

My aunt has invited me to have a table at her church's Eco Craft Fair. They're looking for recycled and eco-friendly items. My only ideas are crocheted cotton grocery bags, fabric snack bags (like these), and my husband makes these awesome guitar picks out of old CDs. I'm pretty confident in my crafting ability, but I'm having a hard time thinking of appropriate items. I make wool longies as a diaper cover for my daughter out of felted wool sweaters from thrift stores, but that's hardly up everyone's alley. The fair's in April, so wintry goods aren't fitting.

Any ideas for items? Tips for selling at a craft fair? This would be my first, and while it's obviously quite casual, I'd like to not bomb :)
