Hello craft girls and guys! First post here, but I'm afraid it's a question. I looked through the memories first and couldn't find anything, but please do tell me if I've missed something!

I just decided to go to a Halloween party tomorrow, and the theme is Rocky Horror. After a bit of Google-fu, I've settled on trying to dress up as Columbia. I've never made/bought a costume before (sad, I know), and was wondering if anyone knows how to do a facsimile of her costume on the cheap? I'm a (broke) student, so the cheaper the better. I'm not immensely bothered with accuracy, but I'd like it to be recognizable! I live in the UK if anyone has any cheap shop suggestions.

Thanks so much!

Needed a cape to go with my fortune teller costume - so my mom and I got some material and put this together - no-sew project, simple with a cinching ribbon 'curtain' idea that came together on the fly!

I have been obsessed with a cool steampunk scrapbook paper from Graphic 45 and since I had some left after making albums I decided it would look good with Holmes. This is called The Whirlwind of his mind.

So my Mother hates Halloween. As in loathes it. She doesn't like costumes, doesn't like to dress up, and pretty much wants nothing to do with the holiday other than handing out candy.

So you can imagine how thrilled she was to be invited to my father's corporate costume party. So we spent all month strategizing costume ideas and finally thought we had one nailed down that she could handle.

I guess I thought wrong. Cause on Wednesday night she called me and said "I've changed my mind. I think I'd like to go as breast cancer awareness instead."

Me: o_O (i.e. how the hell am I supposed to make that)

So after a serious brainstorming period (and a late night run to the fabric store) I managed to put together a costume that she could a) wear with her normal clothes and b) that personified breast cancer awareness

two hours later... )
