Hello ladies! (and gentlemen?) I'm hoping for some advice from the experienced knitters here. I started this "scarf" as a Christmas present for my Gran:

It's my first attempt at knitting something other than a tension square and I just went at it freehand. Probably a mistake as I've ended up with a 26 inch WIDE scarf that's only seven inches long. What a rookie! I still have, erm, this much wool left:

So, I was wondering if any of you lovlies could advise on something else I could make this into, because I don't think it's going to end up as a workable scarf and the only other use I can think of for it would be a rather unexciting pot holder. The simpler the better, because I'm a novice although my mother's recently taken up knitting and is miles better than I am, so she could help me with anything not too finicky.

Thanks for your time <3 Cross-posted to [livejournal.com profile] knitting

DECOUPAGE ON CHAIRS

Honestly, for two days I was looking at these chairs next to our garbage bin. Finally, decided to adopt them.  I wanted to give them an "old Asia" feeling without "wants to look real" ))).

For the last 2 months I have been working a putting together a 'Home made Christmas' for my family and friends.  I am so proud, I still have some baking (Christmas cookies) and cooking to do (a huge Christmas day meal) but for the most part I am done and completely organised.

And now for the spoils of my hard work, which my family will enjoy this Christmas:

A waldorf doll for each of my girls.  100% natural materials, 100% hand made

More home made christmas goodies this way )
And now I'm completely too excited to see the reaction of my family when they open the gifts I have made them on Christmas morning.  :)

*Cross posted to Sew_hip and my journal.  Sorry if you see it more then once.

Not much backstory, other than being bored and wanting to pay homage to Mr. Spock :)
