Gluing jewelry
Jan. 12th, 2011 12:33 amI am still on a crafting kick, and would like to make a brooch/pin. I bought a stretch ring and cut the ring part off, leaving me with a surface that is mostly flat, save for a small raised open square where the stretchy thread was tied off. I doubt it's made of any special metal; it's basically a cheap cocktail ring.
I have some Beadalon Bead Stringing Glue that the box says can be used for "general purpose." Do you think this would work for attaching a pin back to the ring base (and keeping it there)? I'm intending to put glue only on the parts of the square where it would meet the pin back - I don't want to waste glue by filling in the square with it.
This brooch isn't going to be moved around a lot, but it's going on my coat, which will see a lot of wear in winter.
Thanks in advance for the help!
