What do you do with your empty thread spools? I keep feeling like they could serve a purpose, but I'm not sure what.

but not new to creativity or sewing. =D i found the comm on LJ's home page in the "LiveJournal Today" section.

i taught myself the basics of how to crochet at the end of december, a friend showed me the double and triple crochet stitches in mid-January, and i realised i don't really have all that much yarn around my house as i thought i did.

i post these in my own LJ, but it's mostly public, so feel free to browse my "crochet" tag. and i have to say, my foray in to crochet ( has been fun! there's some pics and things back here )

Ribbon crafts

Hello! I have TONS of ribbons from horse showing and I was looking for ideas on crafts to make with them? I already want to try a belt and a pillow. Quilting is not my thing.....
I made a really lovely Christmas Wreath last year from the red and green ribbons. I assume most crafts made with ribbon can substitute horse show ribbon pieces. Thanks in advance!

okay so i really need a idea for a valintienes gift for my boyfriend. So far the only materials i have are red and pink ribbon and red cardboard. It as to be something special but my mind is drawing up a blank so if anybody has any ideas please let me know.
