Dehydrating orange slices

craftgrrlHas anyone dehydrated orange slices to use for crafts? I couldn't find any dried ones so I figured I'd just do my own in my oven, and I don't need to be as particular as the instructions online I've seen because these are not for eating, just for decoration.
They all talk about making or using dehydrating trays, though, made out of wood lath or screening material, and I'd rather use something I already have. Any ideas? Any specific tips I should know about dehydrating orange slices?
