QUILT DRAMA!

I swear to god, I almost had a panic attack about my quilt last night. I wanted to finish it on Monday, and now it is Wednesday and and I have accomplished nothing. NOTHING! I need to get it done by Saturday, and I have a PROBLEM. The fabric I was gonna do the edges with is a gorgeous teal velvet. I thought I had enough but yesterday I discovered that I am about five inches short. I have a couple options here. I could:
a) just sew the back on with no edge and be done with it. This would be fast and easy but would probably look bad and make me unhappy with the whole project.
b) put a different fabric on the corners of the edge, perhaps in an interesting shape. The other fabric I have is purple cotton/poly blend with shiny gold swirls. I think this would look pretty cool, even if I just did the top two corners instead of all four, but it would be much more complicated than the other two options.
c) make the edge narrower than originally planned and use the scraps to make it long enough. As far as easiness goes, this option is sort of in the middle. I am worried that adding in little bits of fabric would look like ass though.

Agh. I am in a serious bind here. What do you all think I should do? One good thing about this dilemma- I am finally going to get over my sewing machine phobia, because I need to get this done NOW.
