Some Christmas presents I made
Nov. 8th, 2003 06:02 pmOk, the first thing I made was a record bowl for

The next things I made were for Lia and Anita. They are environmental lunch things that roll up. They contain: a washable matching napkin, two forks, a knife and two spoons:
Laid out side-by-side:

Finally, both ov them rolled up and tied side-by-side:

Also, I made purses for Lia and Neeters. They are both made out ov hardcover books with the papers cut out ov them.
Lia's was done by modge-podging the leopard print onto the book. I then sewed the fabric onto the bottom to create the sides. I then hot-glued the sides to the inside ov the book. I used pink ribbon to hide the stitching on the bottom. I then sewed the handles on & hot glued the butterflies on.

The inside ov Lia's book had a map printed on and so I left that. I thought it gave it a "Heart of Darkness" type ov look to it:

Anita's purse was more complex because those flowers on the outside are actually glass. I had to cut a hole in each side and stick the flowers in [they are mounted on thick green wire & there are flowers on each side]. I then hot glued the crap out ov it to get the glass flowers to stay down. For her handles, I sewed loops on the top and stuck matching painted chopsticks through it. I then took pink ribbon & tied it on to make extra-sure the sticks stayed in. I also glued the bows, just in case. I also modge-podged the fabric too the inside as the book was just a plain white. The clasp I came up with is a blue drangonfly on a wire that twists around it.

The purses took a long time and I also glue-gunned the crap outta my fingers. I loved doing them however!
