procrastinating with too-small sweaters
Dec. 3rd, 2003 12:57 amcarving up an old sweater...
So last night at midnight I gave myself a break from the drudge of reading and research by cutting up an old sweater-turtleneck and made legwarmers. The sweater was too small, and a turtleneck that's too small is just no good--it gives that awful shelf-boob/big gut effect that is anything but flattering. So, I just cut behind the seam of the sleeves, folded the shoulder flap down into the sleeve, sewed it down and strung a piece of shoelace-y yarn/ribbon I have to tie it to place. Now I can wear skirts again without showing off my sexy, hairy, pale legs.
legwarmers

I also made a headband/earwarmers from the turtleneck-neck part, but didn't take a picture. My roommate thinks it makes me look like I should be leading everyone in jazzersize. Whatever.
So that was last night. Tonight: armwarmers!

I only got the right one finished tonight, but there's plenty of time left to procrastinate with finals coming up and all. I didn't have a pattern for this one, just kind of improvised. You like?
