(no subject)

I'm making my boyfriend and his parents a decoupaged box for Christmas [a heart for the boy, an oval for his parents]. This is not my first time decoupaging, but I've only ever done it once or twice before. Therefore, I have a question :)
I know you can use hairspray to prevent smearing of printed pictures when decoupaging, but does anyone know of another way? Suggestions are most welcome [and I'll make sure to show pictures when I'm done!]
