all hail cat, mistress of the zipper

a few things i made recently, a reconstruction and a shirt from a pattern.
(sorry to the people who are seeing this immediately as i'm Trying to post it. i'm still new with this livejournal stuff. multiple edits have followed.)

the zipper was originally on the neck. i removed and replaced it, and folded the neck down once (turtlenecks...)

made from butterick #3629 (a little girl's pattern, i'm small) and some modifications. the pattern called for a square neckline, which i hate, so i did the asymmetrical thing, and took it in in places to give it some shape. i originally had the sleeve flounces about twice as long, which was sort of ok, but a little too renn faire, so i cut them back again. i didn't bother to hem the sleeves, because i thought that would disturb the way they drape, so i just used some fray stopper stuff on the edges. i'm totally obsessed with crushed velvet lately. ;p
