Umbrella Art?

i was wondering if anyone knew what sort of paint i can use to paint onto an umbrella. i remembered someone here doing it before but i cant find the post. Also i think the person also have problems with the medium she used in end [i *think so anyway. it was ages ago and i cant rmemember, i apologise if i am wrong]
What about iron on transfers?
can i iron onto an umbrella and still have it functional?
any other ideas on how to get a design onto an umbrella? please share them with me? thank you!
