Scarves!!!
Dec. 22nd, 2003 03:39 pmI just finished these two plain, garter-stitched, striped scarves for my cousins.

they may be a tad plain, but hey, the kids are 2 and 5, they'll love 'em!
Now, my mom wants me to knit a scarf for her.. She already picked out the yarn and bought it (lion brand homespun in prairie). My mom is really into HIGH FASHION.. (well, thats what it seems like to little ol' me; my wardrobe is almost exclusivly thrifted) oh and she throws names around like coach, loui faton? ummm i cant remember anymore
well i digress..
she told me she read that loosly knitted homespun scarves are in style. So i have this yarn and size 10 1/2 needles.
i was thinking about doing a stockinette stitch and then at the end, dropping every other stitch and then pulling for that very loose effect.. i don't know if this is what she had in mind.. any tips?
