Dec. 27th, 2003 10:46 pmPicked up this black and white fabric from the remnants at Joanns today for less than a buck. The checkerboard material is from a bandana I already had from Hobby Lobby ($1). The button I found in the closet. The binding I had leftover from something else. This is my first project on my new sewing machine!
scanned images and text behind the cut

I had a hell of a time figuring out the automatic buttonhole maker, but once I did I loved it. The strap leaves the purse about at my hip and is about one and a quarter inches wide. The inside is a little messy, but I'm extremely ameatuer and also trying to get the feel of the tension on this new machine.
All in all I'm pretty proud.
material=$.84
lining=$1
thread/button=$0
total cost=$1.84!
