someone asked about ways to store jewelery lately and i know it's been asked before, so i thought i'd share my solution. it's pretty simple, but i like it. it's lookin pretty empty right now, but usually it's a lot fuller!

this was so easy and so cheap, and i love it. i made it at least 3 years ago and it's held up pretty well.

i went to the dollar store and bought some misc. small hooks and the gardening terrace thing. i opened out the terrace to how wide i wanted it, then i started screwing in all the hooks. the terrace is balsa wood, so the screws went in pretty easy, though by the end of it my fingers HURT! once that's done, take it outside and spraypaint it all. then hang it on the wall! the whole thing cost me about $3 plus some spraypaint. i like that i can make it wider or a bit thinner, because it's now been up on the wall in three different houses, with different amounts of space to hang it! you can also hang it vertically, if you just twist the hooks a little bit more. it's so lightweight that i can just use three thumbtacks to hang it.

i think you can probably get the terrace stuff at homedepot, but usually they carry the kind that's not extendable and is made of strudier wood, which is way harder to screw hooks into!

and here's a close up of the hooks.
