craftgrrl | how to hang easter eggs???

i'm starting to freak out about easter because of the hundreds of eggs i decorated last year. They are sitting in a storage box and I'm afraid they will stay there unless figure out how to finish them. I never got around to hanging them because i was never able to drill a clean, round hole(s) into which to insert ribbons for hanging.

8 out of 10 times i tried to drill a hole (with my smallest drill bit -- the smallest available from my hardware store anyway) the eggs cracked. (I am using real eggs which i blew the contents out of). The holes were originally created by poking a needle through them.

can any one help with a suggestion?
