craftgrrl | Felt Xmas Stockings. Glue or Stitch?

Lots of questions today. I didn't see anything about this in the archives.

I also need some unfinished xmas stockings. (I am way behind). I've cut all the pieces out (from felt) and i need to assemble them.

The first decision is whether to glue the pieces together or to stitch the whole thing together.

Glue seems like it would be faster, but i don't want ridges or ripples when the glue hardens. Is there a special glue i could use that won't distort the shape or darken the felt (I'm using all colors -- light and dark).
