i made my first felted hat!

it came out... okay. not amazing, but certainly not as disasterous as i was expecting my little experiment to end up. it took two times through the wash to shrink. the first time it hardly did at all, and so the second time i didn't pay enough attention so it shrunk up a little too much, but it still fits the average hu-man sized head, so that's all that matters. i know i could have avoided this by making a swatch and running it through, but i never make swatches because i'm an ass like that. it's a little shapeless, but with the help of some ribbon.. my roommates and i have decide it's rather mary-poppins-ish.

i don't hate it, but i don't love it. they can only get better from here, right?
