Sep. 28th, 2002 12:41 pmOk, so I started making jewelry a year and a half ago or so - I tried using beads and wire - but cutting the wire, filing it down, working with the pliers, etc was getting to me more recently because of medical problems. So I tried stringing stuff but found I didn't like what I could with that as much - hated crimping off the ends, and had no patience for learning stitches. So... when
detholalle made this post, her chainmail bracelet inspired me. I don't have the kind of rings that would work best for making chainmail designs, but I do, err did have a LOT of jump rings that I was not using - so I tried a simple pattern and ended up making a necklace with them. I'm a little sad that the details are missing in the pics - each larger jump ring (about 140 right now) is connected using smaller jump rings (almost 400) - two small jump rings for each side and 2 to connect the bottom row to the top row. I might add a third row, on the top, to balance out the necklace a bit more (the charm and dangles add a little weight on the bottom row, so the top kind of droops at times and I THINK that adding a third row might fix that.
