very basic bag, and a question
Feb. 3rd, 2004 02:13 pmFinally I get to post a project on here! I borrowed a working sewing machine, and with my newfound unemployment am happily getting many things done. I just made my first ever bag!

this is the bag as it is now. Black corduroy, with plaid cord lining.
this is what I want to do with it:

the problem is, as you can see in the first photo, it's lined. So I want to sew the flames on the bag (I like it, but it was just too boring). Should I go sew it on through both the outside layer and the lining, or is there a better way to sew it on to just the outside layer? I might just make another bag anyway and sew the flames on first, but I don't really need another bag.
Thanks for any input!
