Finished dino-mittens!
Feb. 4th, 2004 07:46 pmI posted on of these a while ago, and I finally got around to finishing the second one. Quick un-boring recap: they're for a friend who is obsessed with dinosaurs.
After suggestions from you lovely ladies, I finished the second mitten with the word (sound?) "ROAR".

These mittens were my first project knitted in the round on dpn's. I got the free pattern from Knitting Pretty here: Warmest Mittens. For those of you who haven't knitted in the round, don't be afraid! This is a great first project. Each mitten took me about 3 hours, and they turned out super cute. To embellish, I freehanded and cut out a triceratops and the word "ROAR" out of felt, and used blanket stitch and chain stitch (carefully, as not to catch the back of the mitten) to attach them.
I'm going to do a couple more pairs...I've gotten requests for cat+MEOW, dog+WOOF, etc., etc.
Sorry about the crappy quality! They are about 1.7 billion times cuter in person.
Thanks for watching...
