I figured out how to ply my yarn with another yarn. I wanted a bobble-ee slub bumpy yarn like those found at Fuzzybumblebee.com or Pluckyfluff.com. I love those funny irregular yarns, but I could never afford to buy them.
So wrapped my yarn around a dowel to keep the spin on it, and then did the same with some red heart blue clouds. I have no idea how it will all work out, but the wool single I spun seems to have a good hold on the blue clouds acrylic.
I would like to point out that this is not the color of the yarn. It's a deep electric blue, and my digi cam is being finicky about bright colors again.

This is my over spun first batch. The second drop spindle was much more manageable, and had the right amount of spin. Plus by the time I did the second spindle full, I was getting the hang of making big bumps in the yarn, and then going skinny again. I really felt it was coming to me.

I think it came out pretty well.

I have just set the twist using joyofhandspinning.com's directions. It's hang drying as I speak.
I am not sure what I will make with it, but I want to make something that will show the yarn off. I was thinking of knitting a scarf on monster sized needles so the yarn would be more evident, and not bunched up in tiny stitches.
Any ideas on what I could make with it?
Better yet, anyone know how to make a skien of yarn? I just have no idea how to get it all to go in a nice neat skein!
