I found the head of a sleigh bed frame beside a set of dumpsters along the waterfront in Seattle and it's now in my garage. My mattresses are on the floor so I thought it would be nice to have the frame at the head of my bed so the pillows would stop falling off the bed at night... The item is in very good condition. It's wood, there aren't scratches - it's just dirty. The real issue is that somebody decided to spray black paint on the visible side (the original wood would have matched my wood floor much better) and it looks tacky. I hate sanding with a passion because I don't like inhaling dust, I hate the sound, I hate the feeling of that kind of friction and mostly, because I'm weird. Is there anything I can do to the frame without sanding to alter the appearance? In case you need to visualize my room, it has deep purple walls, a pearlescent gold ceiling with East Indian decor. It's elegant and romantic. Gimme ideas. No shabby chic, please.
