I'm mentioning a couple of books that I have read over the years and really liked. You can get them from the library, or used from Amazon.

The first is Sew Your Own Accessories. Real simple stuff like hats, clever belts, earrings, and other goodies. I loved this book to death when I was younger. Nothing overly complicated, but neat. Plus it was written in the 70's!

My current favorite, another book from the 70's, is The Undies Book. I stumbled on it in the library this year and HAD to buy it off Amazon. It has easy info and small gridded patterns to enlarge for all kinds of things, like slips, bras, underpants, and a crochet pattern for a bikini! I positively love this book and refer to it often.

Lastly, we have Of Course You Can Sew!. It was a wonderful and comprehensive intro to sewing, laying out patterns, etc, and has instructions for making a very nice looking gathered skirt. This baby was also written in the 70's, but it's groovy anyway!

Anyway, just thought I'd share. Does anybody have any titles to add to the list?
