Apr. 29th, 2004 12:26 amIt has been absolutely forever since I have posted in here...because it has been forever since I crafted (stupid college with its stupid organic chemistry) but I am done this year which means craft time!
I turned this altoids tin into a little fairy box for a co-worker to store wallet-sized pictures of her family in (I hope they fit.)
I apologize for the blurryness of some of the pictures. The lighting in my room is bad.
top view: I used mirror-like flat disks and cut them into different shapes and placed them around the picture. The light brown ones peaking out from both ends are the same flat disks but a different color (I have a bunch from some random craft kit I bought a long time ago)

side view: (you can see my anatomy book better than the altoids tin) I used gold tissue paper and decoupaged it with Mod Podge all around the tin

back view: used two of those disks to cover up a bit of an oopsie

inside view: On the left I pasted a little fairy poem. On the right I glued down a picture of a fairy then decoupaged a piece of old pantyhouse over it to give it a little bit of a curtain effect. I attempted to use string to hang the two butterfly ornaments through two holes I punched but it kept on falling so I just glued them to the top

another side view: note the paper is ripped at an odd angle. I attempted to rip off the top section so the tin would close but it ended up looking like this

opposite side view: same thing on the other side

front view: and the same on this side too

any suggestions for improvements are welcomed...I want to make sure it looks as good as it possibly can before I give it to her.
