May. 2nd, 2004 10:59 pmO.M.G. I did it.
in a few days shy of a month.
A close up of the big star thing:

A close up of a smaller star, with my foot to give an idea of scale:

The back featuring my two dogs:

This quilt is FAR from perfect, but I learned a lot. The most important things I learned are:
1. I have a kick-ass sewing machine.
2. Pin the top, batting, and back together all over the whole thing BEFORE starting the quilting process.
3. Binding would have been easier than the pillow-case method I used.
4. Quilting uses a LOT of frickin' thread. I ran out, but, luckily, had some of a very similar color to what I was using so I just went with that.
I can't wait to start another one.
Whoops - I accidentally deleted this entry. So I'm putting it back now.
