If i painted my cell phone (LG Flip phone) with clear glitter nail polish, would it affect its working ability?

I'll of course remove the battery first and cover the parts that respond to the battery and i wont paint any buttons, but would the fumes affect the way it works? I hope not. My phone is all scratched up and i think it needs a face lift. its about 3 years old.
