More silk painting photos

EDIT: I took out the pictures for security reasons. They're still in my journal, but are friends-only. If you would like to see them, comment and I'll add you. Sorry for the inconvenience, but I gotta do this.
1. If you add paint to an area that has already dried, it will make a weird ring (just like watercolors.)
2. If water gets on it after it dries (and before you put it in fixative) you get a similar effect.
3. Binder clips actually work pretty well to pull the silk taut -- better than clothespins but not as good as lingerie clips.
4. If you're painting a tie, make sure to paint the design around the edges a bit before you paint the back. When you're painting the back, whatever color you paint it will travel around the edge of the tie and mess up the design on the front. (It also helps to let the front part dry before you paint the back part.)
Really, I think this will go in my file as one of the best lessons I've ever done with a class. They're really having a blast.
I'll post more pictures as the rest of the projects get done if you're interested.
