May. 19th, 2004 10:11 pmI ran across an envelope art contest and thought I would enter, considering I am in love with postal art. I wanted something fierce and vibrant looking to send through the mail, as it would look interesting against the backdrop of all the other white business letters: boring.
So I opted to paint something else I am enamored with: the Japanese Kabuki warrior. Mine was inspired by several kabuki paintings from long ago that I have seen in books. They are always both fierce, and vibrantly lovely.

This is acrylic and ink on a cardboard brown colored handmade paper. It took me about ten hours to complete.
