NYC Survival Kit

craftgrrlokay so my boyfriend's best friend (my friend too, but my boyfriend and him have this "pact" where they don't buy things for each other.) is leaving to move up to NYC to go to school for his acting. and i wanted to make a sort of "NYC survival kit" but i need some ideas as to what to put in it.
maybe some things having to deal with rude people in the big city (we're from a small town in west virginia so it's a big change), things dealing with his acting, going away to school gifts in general, or funny stuff like condoms or something, cause he'll get all the girls :). i just need some ideas/inspiration.
some background info: he's going to a college for his acting for two years in new york city... he's the funniest person i know, really carefree and random. he will be walking pretty much everywhere he goes when he's up there.
