Hi all, I just thought I would mention this here in case anyone else finds it useful. I recently bought a *lot* of unmounted rubber stamps. Unmounted stamps can be purchased for a lot cheaper than mounted stamps. In my case, the ones I was interested in were only offered unmounted so I had no choice.

Anyway, the traditional way of mounting them is to cut out the stamps, glue them to foam, glue the foam to wood and wait up to 48 hours for them to dry. If you don't have wood of the appropriate size you have to cut it up and sand the edges. This can get to be a pain in the butt.

However I found this: http://sundayint.com/mall/MAPage1.asp
It's a new way of mounting stamps using acrylic blocks and a special foam that clings to the blocks temporarily.

There are several cool things about this method:

1.) MUCH easier and faster to mount the stamps. Just stick them on the foam, and cut out and you're done.
2.) You can buy an assortment of acrylic blocks of various sizes and they can be used interchangably with all your unmounted stamps, rather than having to buy a wooden mount for every one.
3.) The cling stuff actually sticks really well, but the stamps can be easily removed and it's not sticky at all.
4.) The acrylic blocks are clear, so anal retentive perfectionists like myself can see *exactly* where the stamp is going to go...really good when you are trying to line things up.
5.) There are also special sheets/folders you can buy that the stamps will cling to, so all your stamps are neatly organized and in one place. These can then be put in a binder or stacked flat for storage. Additionally, they just added a new product that is a sheet that your acrylic blocks will stick to, so they can also be stored together on a flat sheet.

So, not only is it easier than the other method, but in the long run it's cheaper, you can stamp with more precision, and you can organize your stamps easier. Win-win!

I now wish all my stamps were unmounted, because I find the ones with the EZ-Mount format to be much easier to use. I will only buy unmounted stamps now.

I thought I'd post this since I know there are rubber stampers in this group and I wasn't able to find any reviews or info about this mounting system from anyone that actually used it. The store I linked to is one of the few places I found it available online, and it was the cheapest.
