i love working at the craft store.

yesterday i got in the new shipment of project sheets, and i got so excited about on of them that i decided that this was todays demo!

i included the project sheet picture in there too, because they used pink and it shows up so much better than my purple.

whoohoo! here's how:

-cut a strip of leather to fit your wrist. maybe a little smaller, because you're putting a toggle on there too...
i used an olfa rotary cutter with a wavy blade for the leather, but the sheet says use fiscars fancy edge scissors. i had the rotary cutter already, and it worked great

-punch holes in the leather i used the scrapbook hole punch, that one uses with a hammer in the middle of the ends, and in close-set pairs all over the piece of leather.

-set pretty colored scrapbook eyelets in the holes you punched.

-make pretty dangles with beads and headpins
i used sone decorative-head headpins, but i didn't have enough, so i made some of the leftovers eyepins like the picture

-take 10mm jumprings, put the danglies on them, and put them in the eyelet pairs. one jumpring per pair, please. :)

-take whatever-size-you-like jumprings and put a toggle clasp on the ends. i tried using the 10mm rings, but they were too cumbersome for the toggle. i ended up using one 10mm and another really small one on the T shaped side

and thats all!

i'd imagine that this technique would work really well in necklace format. or with the jumprings along the bottom of the strip instead of scattered...
and everyone that saw me making it was like "wow!"

i think especially because it's a little punkish. not the usual old-lady crafts we tend to have.
