Ducttapers! I have some questions.
Jun. 20th, 2004 01:43 pmapologies for the text-only post.
I've been making things out of duct tape (purses, wallets, cell phone cases) for a little while now, and I've been using sticky back velcro as a closure for the purses and cell phone cases, but it seems that the bond of velcro is stronger than the bond of the sticky part of the velcro to the unsticky part of duct tape. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it stay better? In my experience, not much sticks to the shiny side of duct tape. I tried sewing it on with my sewing machine, but that only semi-worked. I might try hand sewing, but I'd like to know if anyone had any better ideas first.
Also! For anyone who makes purses out of duct tape, how do you make the strap secure to the purse? Because my method of it has led to some wearing in those weak spots over time, which isn't ideal. Heh.
Thanks so much!
