Removing sleeves from a dresshirt?

Does anyone have any experience with removing sleeves from a dresshirt.
I have some nice ones, that are a bit snug in the arms, but otherwise fit just fine.
I figured if i cut the arms off, i could make them sleeveless, and still wear under a jacket or cardigan.

Any suggestions or links would be appreciated!
