Duct Tape Questions

For anyone that does duct tape crafts, I have some questions (I'm a newbie):

What kind of surface do you think is best for working on duct tape projects?

What type of cutting board do you use?

Are they any good sites for projects or supplies that you would recommend? I found tapemonster.com for different colored duct tape, but are there more colors and varieties?

Any helpful tips and tricks?

I got both duct tape craft books out there, so I'm sure I'll find a lot to keep me busy, but any recommendations would be great :)
