about wedding announcements

My cousin is getting married in November. She wants to send out announcements before she sends out the actually invitaions. She had this idea of writing the announcements on scrolls than stuffing them in empty water bottles. The thing is, when you rip off the company brand, there's that glue that doesn't go away. Does anyone have any ideas to help make the glue go away? I heard if you erased stickiness, it goes away. Are there any more ideas on how to make the presentation seem less frugal? Thanks.
