This is my first try at duct taping and laminating magazine pages and covers making them into flat wallets.

I laminated the one on the left with clear, matte contact paper, and I did the Cosmo one with clear packing tape. Both will hold a check book and bills. It's kinda fun and I have loads of magazines to pour over and find the perfect pics. I may get some iron-on vinyl and try my hand at making a tote bag now. The only thing is I did sew the wallet together on the left first before duct taping it, and I ended up trimming it with duct tape after I saw my stitches didn't look quite right. I think the tension was too tight for stitching on the laminated paper. I need to experienment more with that before I make a tote bag if I'm going to sew it. I still want to make an all duct tape wallet and tote bag too.

I've had so much fun this week crafting, but the house is in dire need of attention so I've GOT to focus on it and get my mind off this stuff...lol I used to be the same way when I was sewing.

I also made a couple of toothbrush cuff bracelets today. Yep, they are real toothbrushes that have been heated and formed into bracelets and then decorated. I'll save pics of those for another time. They came out rather cute I think.

I ordered one and got it this week from [livejournal.com profile] purplerain501 and hers was so cute that it got me inspired to try my hand at making one or two.
