Paper Dye Alternative
Jan. 28th, 2004 03:12 pmHello everyone. My name is Liz. I don't know if I've introduced myself in this community before, but I have been a member in the past... more of a lurker than anything else.
This post reminded me of how great tissue paper can be. Here's a simple project I've recently fallen in love with:
Supplies
- tissue paper (various colors of your choosing)
- water
- paper (any weight you fancy)
- an eye dropper (the preferred method of distributing water)
Directions
- Cut tissue paper into random shapes and pieces
- Wet pieces individually and organize onto paper
- Add water to the tissue paper after placing onto the plain paper to smooth out and fully saturate
- Let dry and allow tissue paper to fall off on its own
Most of all, I enjoy making love letters with such paper. Try it with celestial shapes and other funs things, and see what you get. I'd love to see y'all results. For a little extra oomph and the aged look, I like crumpling the paper repeatedly after it has dried. It makes it soft and kind of rustic looking.
Hopefully no one has posted this previously. It's amazing how simple it is.
