I've been looking through a few EGL (Elegant Gothic Lolita) sites the past few days and got inspired, so I bought an XL black men's t-shirt and 3.5 yards of black t-shirt fabric (I was going to use already-made t-shirts as well but I figured that just buying the actual fabric, which cost me $6.60 in total, would be cheaper and easier), grommets (huge pain in the ass), lace, and 5 yards of ribbon and came up with this:
The ruffles were made from the 3-yard fabric and there is a lace underlayer. The top part with the corset-style is made from the t-shirt.

The project took me about 4 or 5 days to finish (those damn grommets kept popping off!!) and cost me under $20. Now I just need to find a nice button-up shirt with cute puffy sleeves because I won't wear the dress out of the house like that ^.^
