Pillow Cases

I found some plain white pillow cases for cheap, and I want to do something to decorate them up. I got to thinking that it would look next to have a line of beads around the edge of the case (not the very edge, but at the seam where it is folded over... get what I mean?). I'm not planning on actually using them, I just want them for decoration for the bed.

Do you think, if I used a tough enough thread, i would work?
