craftgrrl | unscented lotion and soap

Hi everyone! I was hoping you all could help me out...

For my mom's christmas present this year, I was going to get her a big basket and fill it with lavender-scented yummy bath treats (And I fully plan on taking pics when I get it all finished!). But before I make up stuff and give it to her, I'm trying out various recipes myself to make sure i don't give her a bunch of bottles of lavender-scented crapola or something.
So, for lotion and shower gel, my brain said "Pssh, just mix some essential oil into unscented lotion and unscented shower gel. I'M BRILLIANT!" So, I try this since I had some laying around. The lotion was Wal-mart brand unscented knock-off of Lubriderm, and it turned out *okay*. But the shower gel turned out nasty- it smells like yuck (because of the gel's original smell).

So, my question is: can anyone recommend some cheap REALLY unscented lotion and shower gel?? Specific brand names will make me love you forever, and the cheaper they are, the more I will love you!

p.s.- I know that just mixing essential oil into unscented stuff must seem ghetto to all you experienced magical crafters, but I'm poor. And I don't know any better (read: i'm lazy). :(
