lumber scraps

i have about sixteen 8 foot long, 2 inch wide, 1/2 inch thick pieces of wood, in addition to numerous smaller pieces of scrap lumber. my dad's going to haul it to the dump later this week, but i thought there might be some crafty use for them. i'd hate to just throw them away.
ANY IDEAS???
